This may have occurred for two to three billion years, until a “massive resurfacing event” put an end to the Earth-like conditions. A “runaway greenhouse effect” may have resulted in Venus’ rocks being unable to absorb an extreme outgassing of carbon dioxide.
Kind of makes you stop and think: Will future inhabitants of Mars be saying that about Earth some day?
