Stop and Think

Before cruelty comes seeping out of our mouths, we could all use a pause button to stop and think.

Now there’s an app for that – Nextdoor’s Kindness Reminder.  “Machine learning” is used in order to identify comments that are similar to previous mean ones.  A feature is then launched which prompts users to edit their entries.

Will folks actually opt in?  Nextdoor reports that during a trial run of Kindness, a “significant number” of them did.
