It's a sign!

We all look for signs that things are getting better.  Residents of Wheelock, Vermont need look no farther than their covered bridge.

There stands a colorful poster, custom-made by a concerned four-year-old.  It reads, “Back up if you’re more than 11’9” or 16,000 pounds.”  This warning comes in response to damages incurred by an oversized delivery truck last May.

This 1878 bridge is on the youngster's route to preschool.  He has therefore taken a very personal interest in its preservation.
