Bigger than Big Bird

Pterosaur Skeleton    (Photo by Marine 69-71)
Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  Is it Cryodrakon boreas?  That’s a yes for the latter.

This recently-discovered frozen pterosaur once soared over the wilds of what is now Alberta,
Canada.  With a 16-foot wingspan and an elongated neck, this “flying dragon” must have cast quite a shadow on the dinosaurs below.

We still don't know whether a male Cryodrakon was larger than a female one (or vice versa), but one thing we do know:  Either one was bigger than Big Bird.
