Trust the Gut

We tend to ignore our gut feelings, dismissing them as superstition.

Often, however, they’re right on track.  Scientists have even called the gut a “second brain,” due to the millions of neurons that reside there.

So when Cody Hardin had a gut feeling that all was not right, he paid close attention.  Noticing that a female classmate seemed perturbed, he asked what was wrong.  She desperately replied, “Get him away from me!”

Hardin immediately stepped up to save the day.  Turns out that this female was being stalked by an Internet stranger.  He had flown from Las Vegas to her school in Kentucky, bent on making contact.  Officials later called it an “attempted kidnapping.”

Hardin firmly intervened.  He told the intruder, “Walk away now before things get too bad,” and then called upon school officials.  An arrest was made, and Hardin was heralded as a local hero.
