Pass on Glass

Wolf Tooth Mountain    (Photo by Fanghong)
Angels have wings, people don’t.  Those who walk on glass bridges, pretending to fly, should therefore beware.

China has been recently closing these attractions, due to “a series of accidents.”  Hebei province boasts 32 glass structures, some of which were never meant to hold the growing numbers of tourists.

The mountains alone are a thrill.  Why not appreciate them from vantage points that God has already provided?

Casting Stones is Not Rock Solid

Me too!  (BrokenSphere)
Before proclaiming “me too,” it might be wise to consider what you’re agreeing to. What seems like social activism might instead be fraught with perfectionistic judgments.

Barack Obama recently pointed this out during a Chicago summit conference.  He reminded listeners that “the world is messy,” and that “people who do really good stuff have flaws.”

Jesus put it this way:  Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.  It’s a good thing to contemplate before sounding that alarm.

Perhaps Botswana

(by Hieronymus Bosch)
Over time, there have been a number of scientific theories concerning the origin of homo sapiens sapiens (anatomically modern humans).

They were thought to have originated in South Africa.  Then it was eastern Africa.  Now it’s northern Botswana.

What next?

Perhaps geography is not where it’s at...
