Bloody Karma

Landing of Columbus  (by John Vanderlyn)
The wheels of karma grind slowly, but they can also grind thoroughly.  He who conquers by blood often ends up quite bloodstained.

Such was recently the symbolic case with a Christopher Columbus statue.  This San Francisco statue was splashed with red paint to symbolize the explorer’s bloody deeds.  These words were painted in red at the statue’s base:  KILL ALL COLONIZERS.

This outrage is understandable, yet an eye for an eye “makes the whole world blind.”  Surely there must be better ways to end history’s vicious cycles.
