Salty 93rd

Anna Maria Beachfront   (VitaleBaby)
Many folks shun extra salt, but they make an exception for special occasions.

Like a birthday.  Like a 93rd birthday.

Howard Fisher has lived by the Gulf of Mexico for more than 20 years, yet “never once went in the ocean.”  When his daughter came to celebrate Fisher's 93rd, he had just one birthday wish: to swim in the Gulf.

Sandra Fisher Van Nostrand was determined to make this happen.  She borrowed a beach wheelchair for the occasion.  As they neared the shore, strangers helped her father out of the chair and into the water.

Howard’s reaction?  “Salty,” he said, grinning from ear to ear.
