The good, the bad, and the winged

The good news is that a zoo volunteer managed to glue the partial wing of a dead butterfly to the damaged wing of a live butterfly so that it could fly again.

The bad news is that this volunteer’s expertise came from the breeding of butterflies in order to turn them into jewelry.  That’s how she happened to have a dead butterfly’s wing on hand…

Yet the lucky transplant recipient did indeed fly again.  There is one bonus Monarch gracing our world today, due to the double-edged efforts of this volunteer.
