To Be

Burning Bush   (Painting by Sebastien Bourdon)
Shakespeare’s Hamlet once posed the question: “to be or not to be.”

For Ali Stroker, there is no question.  Despite being long paralyzed from the chest down, she very much is.  After winning a Tony Award for her role     in Daniel Fish's  Oklahoma, Stroker assured disabled folks the world over that they are, too.

There’s something about the verb     “to be” that captures the essence of spirituality.  That could be why, in Exodus 3:14, Yahweh tells Moses:      I AM that I AM.
