Got lunch? (Photo by Anderson Nacimento) |
Over time, domesticated dogs have mastered the
fine art of charming humans. They now know
that one raise of a furry brow can garner
a bowlful of treats.
This
wasn't all that easy to figure out. Humans did
not initially trust dogs (read “wolves”), and rightfully so. But as wolf brows raised, puppy
eyes widened, and who could resist
that soulful gaze?
It
turns out that canines are masters at pulling human strings. They have been known to utilize gestures even more so than chimps. This could be why the main anatomical difference
between wolves and dogs is the latter's pronounced
development of eyebrow muscles.
