Seeking Goodness

When her mother died, Mary Latham’s world fell apart.  For years she felt “adrift” with “raw emotions.”

Mary then focused upon something her mother had advised:  Look for the good, and it will certainly be there.  It will always outweigh the tragedies.

After three years had passed, Mary embarked upon a national quest to discover that goodness.  While traveling in her mother’s blue Outback, she searched for “simple acts of kindness.”

Calling this journey “More Good,” Mary found plenty of it.  She entered as a stranger, but left as a friend in many a home along the way.  Hosts would tell her their inspiring stories, and Mary would document them for an upcoming book.

To date, Mary's clocked 38,000 miles and has only seven more states to visit.  She’s stayed in homes on all sides of the political divide.  It hasn’t mattered.  When you come right down to it, “there is really only one underlying common factor,” and that is goodness.
