Happy in Helsinki

Finland has been called the world’s happiest nation, not because citizens go around looking like the cover of Mad Magazine, but because citizens are often healthy, well-educated, generous, safe and hard-working.

Finns prioritize the morality of universal healthcare over its economics.  They appreciate the natural beauty of their
surroundings, engaging in outdoor activities the year over.  This includes winter biking and dog sledding.

Libraries are another favorite.  The OodiHelsinki Central branch serves as a public “living room” where kids do homework and adults pursue hobbies.  Finns are generally bilingual, and often multilingual.  It’s no wonder that “Finland was ranked the most literate nation in 2016.”
