Royalty Revisited

(Banquet Woodcut from Lyons, 1517 CE)
Here we go again: another royal banquet for yet another U. S. president.

This time around it's for President Trump et al., and no expenses have been spared.  The menu was “six months in the planning,” and the table settings took three days to complete. All in all, it must have cost a pretty pound.

You might think that every morsel would be chewed with exquisite precision.  And yet, the Queen has been politely described as a “brisk eater.”  This means that most others will have to scarf things down if they, too, cherish civility.

There is, however, one mighty exception.  As the "guest of honor," Donald Trump is officially exempt from all such restraints.  This could be a refreshing change of pace from all that previous junk food.
