Asian Rice (Images by Franz Eugen Kohler) |
In
Asian countries, rice is often a dietary
staple. Research from the Doshisha
Women’s College of Liberal
Arts in Kyoto, Japan indicates
that “the obesity rate is
low” in such nations.
Rice
is not only low in fat, but is
also rich in fiber and nutrients. These
factors “may increase feelings of
fullness and prevent overeating.”
