China
currently has one at 217 mph, linking
Shanghai and Beijing. Not to be outdone, Japan is developing an
ALFA-X version of its 199 mph Shinkansen
train.
The
ALFA-X is projected to routinely top
out at 249 mph by the year 2030. Its
“sleek-nosed design” resembles… well,
you guessed it… a speeding bullet.
