Ever wonder where that milk bottle you drank from ended up?  Could be that it’s sitting in a Malaysian dump.

And Malaysia’s had just about enough of that.  Plastic waste has been illegally shipped there from a host of countries, including the United States and Australia.

In 2018, there was more than twice the amount of such shipments from the U.S. alone.

Malaysia is therefore returning 450 tons “of contaminated plastic waste to the countries that shipped it, in a refusal to become a dumping ground for the world’s trash.”
