Heimlich Maneuver  (Evolution and evolvability)

Dylan Paul is very grateful for all that his teacher has done.  He therefore did what any fifth-grader might do: skillfully saved her life.

When Karen Renko began choking on a muffin, she desperately made “the universal choking sign.”  Paul sprang right into action.  He had learned the Heimlich maneuver from YouTube’s Jaiden Animations, and therefore knew just what to do.

By the time students called staff in to help, Renko was already fine.  She couldn’t say enough about Paul’s quick

thinking, calling him “a real-life hero.”
