Getting the shaft is
often feared, but when it comes to
archaeological discoveries, it could be
a mighty good thing.
Just recently, a 1.2
mile “network of underground shafts” was
discovered near England’s Stonehenge. This find is said to be “of major
significance.”
For one thing, it shows
that Neolithic builders were far more advanced
in mathematics than was previously thought. It might also provide clues about the original usage
and meaning of Stonehenge and the nearby Durrington Walls.
