They're back!

For many people, 17 years is a long time to wait.

But for many cicadas, it’s business as usual.  And the 17 years are about to be up.  So look out world, here they come!

Armies of the singing buggers will soon ascend upon parts of Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia.  Collectively known as Brood IX, their appetites are voracious.  And wouldn’t you be hungry after hiding out for 17 years?

We humans need sustenance too.  So keep a close watch on those vineyards and orchards.  Brood IX is about to emerge…
