Facts Change

(Watercolor by William Blake)
As Governor Cuomo is fond of pointing out, facts change.  In the
current pandemic, they change fast and frequently.

So what is there to hold on to?  What is there to go by?  His answer usually comes back around to this: Hang on to the facts.  Go by the numbers.

If that were all there were, this would be a sad world indeed.  But perhaps there’s something a lot more stable.  A lot more enduring.  And a lot more benevolent.

Perhaps there’s a divine force that can be accessed through intuition.  Through inspiration.  Through prayer.

Perhaps this divine force will see us through.  As the facts change
and our best guesses go wrong, perhaps this divine force will save the day.  Perhaps it always has.
