What's in a name?

Sometimes there’s a thin line   between freedom of speech and undue censorship. That line seems to blur more and more these days.

The band Confederate Railroad has been recently removed from the Du Quoin State Fair, Illinois lineup - and outraged folks are asking why.  If   it’s because “the band’s name was deemed inappropriate,” then where do we draw the line?

Focusing upon labels at the expense of substance seems counterproductive. Musicians and fans alike have weighed in on the matter, praising Confederate Railroad’s “good songs” and charitable contributions.

Fair spokesperson Krista Lisser “declined to clarify the reasoning,” simply stating that “this decision is in the best interest” of Illinois citizens.
