Its
board of regents recently “voted unanimously”
to grant “full tuition scholarships”
to qualified undergraduate residents
whose families make less than
$65,001 annually. Families that
make less than $125,001 annually
will also get a break.
The
money will be drawn from a Permanent
University Fund with “a
$160 million endowment.” It will benefit talented Texans “for years
to come.”
