Jonathan Livingston Vulture?

Philosophers among us like to portray seagulls as spiritually-evolved beings. Some (philosophers and/or seagulls), however, are far from saintly.

The seagull that allegedly stole Becca Hill’s pet chihuahua seems ethically challenged.  Hill reports that four-pound Gizmo was just trying to catch a few rays in the family’s garden when a big bad gull came and swooped him away “by the scruff of his neck.”

Ouch!  Gizmo has neither been seen nor heard from since.  Double ouch!!

How is this possible?  USA TODAY reports that some gulls have wingspans “up to 5 feet 3 inches.” These great black-backed birds live along England’s coast, kind of near Gizmo’s paradise lost.
