Little Woman, Big Heart

Kor in 2016    (Oregon State University)
Although only four foot nine, Eva Kor was larger than life.

Her early experiences as a prisoner in Auschwitz only served to strengthen her spirit.  Because she and her sister Miriam
were twins, they underwent torturous experiments by Dr. Joseph Mengele, known as the “Nazi Angel of Death.”

The road to forgiveness was long and hard, but Kor made a conscious choice     to develop that sacred power.  She was
eventually able to forgive even her worst tormentors.

Life has a way of coming around full circle.  Seventy-five years after first arriving at Auschwitz, Kor was leading an educational remembrance tour just miles from there.  She died yesterday while fulfilling that mission.
