A
large group of Yellowstone Park tourists
recently got way too close to
a bison bull. Although the National Park
Service routinely warns against such
folly, people will be people.
Bison
will also be bison. When this group
of 50 came within the bison’s space,
it charged a nine-year-old girl. And
what did some adults do? They ran
the other way.
Lesson
hopefully learned. If you’re not
ready to wrestle down a bull, then stay
within NPS guidelines: more than 25
yards away from most wildlife, and at
least 100 yards away from predators.
Fortunately, the girl was not seriously injured. But many have been.
