That’s exactly what happened to Howard Kirby, who bought a second-hand couch at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Its foot cushion turned out to be stuffed with $43,000 in bills. Not a
bad return on a $70 investment…
Nevertheless, Kirby felt his conscience pricking. Although he
longed to keep this money, the Holy Spirit had other plans. Kirby soon
found himself helping to track down its true owner. He then returned the windfall to a grateful woman whose grandfather
had stashed it away for years.
