Compassion in Short Supply

When reports came out that a woman had been trapped           within a clothing bin, comments abounded. Some were duly compassionate, many were not.

Although the woman reported that she had been pushed inside, many believed that she had fallen in while “fishing” for free goods.  Some belittled her plight, others belittled the belittlers.

Here’s a sampling of the dialog:

Maybe they should charge her with trespassing and attempted theft.

I think frost bite is enough along with spending days in the bin…

Yeah – I was joking but it came out mean spirited.

Yes it did!  But at least this first writer sort of apologized…
