According to a “white cultural” study led by Zita Oravecz and Saeideh Heshmati, these four scenarios can especially help people to feel loved: snuggling
with a child, bonding with a pet, receiving compassion during tough times, and being told (not necessarily by a romantic partner), “I love you.”
Because most of these respondents were white, it would be interesting to discover how others best feel loved. Prior
research has shown that gender also influences results, in that males tend to focus more upon “intimate physical relationships” than females do.
