Sweet Smiles

Something to smile about!  (by Stu Spivack)
Despite or because of his sweet tooth, Chitetsu Watanabe just keeps on smiling.  He’s been doing so for more than 112 years.

Born in Japan in 1907, Watanabe spent a great deal of his life working with plants.  He became quite proficient in the “traditional art” of bonsai and also raised sugar cane.

After raising cane, Watanabe still relishes the fruits of his labor “such as custards and cream puffs.”
