Kin Care

And baby makes three...  (by Ian Duffy)
On all continents except Antarctica (and penguins seem pretty good in this regard, too), kin care has been found to be paramount.

Researchers from Arizona State University studied the motivation factors of 7,000-plus people from “27 countries.” Results showed that “caring for and supporting family members,” as well as “mate retention,” are key values.

The importance of “family values” for the majority of humans has not been researched enough.  The focus of psychological studies has often been on “mate seeking,” rather than on mate keeping.
