When Mike Nipper's wife Peggy needed a kidney transplant, Mike didn’t think twice.  He had been her perfect match for the past 51 years of marriage and hoped he’d be her perfect match for this too.

Turned out he was.  Miraculously so.  Mike not only checked out on blood type, but also on “the six antigen tissue match.”

The transplant processes went exceedingly well, and Peggy’s body is accepting her new kidney.  Mike pointed out that their vows were “in sickness and in health,” so now “death do us part” will just have to wait.
