When you’re ill enough to accrue staggering medical debts, the last thing you need is to worry about paying them off.

The Christian Assembly Church of Eagle Rock, California put the Lord's Prayer into action by wiping out the medical debt of “5,555 struggling families.”  They raised this money in donations and negotiated, with “the help of RIP Medical Debt,” to pay just pennies on the dollar.

This allowed some families within the greater Los Angeles area to avoid homelessness.  It also allowed patients to focus upon getting better rather than upon growing poorer.
