Inside Story

Surgical Biomesh   (Image by Anpol42)
Health-food enthusiasts have long known about the antiseptic properties of Manuka honey.

It has long been used as an ointment for the outside of the body, but is now being applied to surgical mesh as well.  This mesh is then implanted within the body in order to stabilize post-surgical healing of “internal tissues.”

The Manuka coating helps to fight off cellular infection “from inside the body” for approximately three weeks.
