This bucket's 70 percent full

Some people have Paris or London on their bucket lists.  Elon Musk has Mars on his.

Although most buy round-trip tickets for their ultimate journeys, Musk is not so sure.  He estimates his likelihood of going to Mars at 70 percent, but his likelihood of returning might be zero.

After all, as Musk points out, “There’s a good chance of death, going in a little can through deep space.”  And even if you get there, Mars is not exactly a user-friendly environment.

Musk explains, “Your probability of dying on Mars is much higher than Earth.”  This sounds terrifying at best and confusing at least, considering that 100 percent of humans on Earth will probably die.
