Blue not so blue?

Ol' Blue Eyes  (Public Domain)
Winter came early to certain parts of the world this year, and that can make for an increase in SAD (seasonal affective disorder).

Some people, however, are way more affected than others.  Why is this so?  Psychologist Lance Workman theorizes that brown-eyed folks have less physiological access to sunlight than blue-eyed ones, thus
making them more vulnerable to winter blues.

Blue eyes tend to be accompanied by fair skin, allowing for an increased production of healthful vitamin D.  At the same time, higher amounts of optic sunlight can result in elevated “vitality and mood.”
