A wallet returned is faith renewed

Ben would approve!  (Public Domain)
When you lose your wallet between here and there, chances of seeing it again are fairly slim.  But there are exceptions to every rule, and these exceptions can be quite exceptional.

When Todd Brown discovered a wallet that was “wedged between the seat and the wall” during a Frontier flight from Omaha to Denver, he considered alerting the flight attendant.  Brown then decided that he could do one better.

The wallet contained an “ID, $60 cash, a debit card and a signed paycheck.”  It belonged to a 20-year-old named Hunter Shamatt.  Brown thought back to what a tough age 20 could be and decided to be a Great Samaritan.

Brown not only mailed the wallet and contents back to Shamatt, but added an additional $40.  He enclosed a note that explained: I rounded your cash up to an even $100 so you could celebrate getting your wallet back.

Shamatt celebrated a lot more than that.  He celebrated a renewed faith in human nature and in the world at large.
