Silence is Golden

Sometimes silence can be deafening, especially when vehement against social injustice.

Some may call it street theater, others may align it with prophets of old.  After all, Isaiah walked around naked and barefoot for three whole years, while predicting enslavement in Egypt.  Hosea was no slouch either.  He married a prostitute in order to highlight   Israel’s infidelities.

So now we have Malcolm Jenkins of the Philadelphia Eagles.  Rather than endlessly answer media questions, he has chosen to respond with silence.

His message has instead been displayed on posters that publicize key social issues.  Such issues include the disproportionate imprisonment “of people of color” and “cash bail.”
