The devils made them do it

For the preservation of their species, eleven hardy Tasmanian devils were returned to the Australian mainland.

This had been their homeland more than 3,000 years ago.  Dingoes then arrived and overcame the marsupials.  The poor devils then retreated to (you guessed it)… Tasmania.

These latest eleven join a previous group of 15 pioneering devils.  All 26 will hopefully repopulate rather than “slip into extinction.”
