He can see clearly now

Johnny Nash began singing in church early on.  His crooner voice gained him a local television spot by age 13.

Soon he was on the way to national fame, partnering with such luminaries as Doris Day and Paul Anka.  Nash also dabbled in film roles at that time.

Yet nothing matched his success of the mid-1960s, when Nash introduced reggae to a whole new audience.  His own popularity helped bring Bob Marley to the forefront.  And then came “I Can See Clearly Now.”

Nash’s upbeat anthem became an antidote to depression.  Millions took heart as they looked straight ahead, seeing “nothing but blue skies!”  Blessings to the one who has now joined that heavenly choir.
