Polar bears: Where else to go?

As the polar ice melts, namesake bears are forced to flee elsewhere.

That “elsewhere” turns out to be Russia.  In the remote Novaya Zemlya islands, residents are reporting “the appearance of dozens of polar bears.”  These ursine “neighbors” are seeking food any way they can.

Everyday life is being disrupted as people fear for their lives.  The bears have lost their own fear of humans and are becoming more aggressive.

Because Russia categorizes polar bears as endangered, no drastic measures have been taken yet.  Authorities, however, are considering “a cull” if the situation cannot be otherwise remedied.
