It could be
an earthquake, a hurricane, a cyber
attack – no matter. If we don’t prepare adequately
for such, the losses will be catastrophic.
Lack of
preparation includes the following: “a failure
to invest in healthcare infrastructure and
environmental protection.” Building and rebuilding
in flood zones is part of the problem.
Structures
that can easily crumble are another.
Bruce Riordan,
Climate Readiness Institute director,
agrees with Buffet. Riordan states, “The bottom
line is it’s going to be bad everywhere.”
He warns that we’d better get
organized now.
