It’s not
only easier, but also better to make room
for a variety of heroes. Whereas
Michael Jordan may have more of a “clutch
gene” (as Scottie Pippen would
have it), LeBron James
is a social-justice
role model.
When Laura
Ingraham relegated James to simply
being a ball bouncer, he responded with a
brilliant documentary called “Shut Up and Dribble.” This three-part series featured other NBA players
who had plenty to say about civil
rights.
One of those
players, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, recently
wrote a Newsweek article lauding James’
all-around example. Along with his
basketball and activist accomplishments, LeBron has
been relentlessly committed to a healthful
routine. He faithfully practices dietary discipline and assorted workout routines.
There’s room
in this world for more than one GOAT; in
fact, the high peaks host many.
