Her 1954
purse was recently discovered
within the rubble of her former Indiana
high-school. Martha’s ID
was still in the purse, and she was
contacted via social media.
Now 82 and
living in Florida, Martha says
that the purse brought back memories
long tucked away. It held “a letter
from a love-smitten teenager,”
as well as “a track meet ribbon she [had]
won.”
