Harvard's got goats

Goat for hire!     (Photo by Kuebi)
Because goats were once a metaphor for peace, getting someone’s goat meant that you disturbed his peace or made her angry.

Nowadays Harvard's got goats, and they’re turning out to be a lot more peaceful than either motorized mowers or chemical killers.  According to The Boston Globe, "four hungry goats have been tasked with eating weeds and other unwanted vegetation at the Ivy League school’s Arnold Arboretum.”

These goats are being methodically guided to “work on one area at a time.”  They are expected to eat away at the entire task within the next few weeks.
