Beating the Odds

(Fair Use)
Every time a lottery player wins big, it’s tempting to run right out and buy a ticket.

However, it’s wise to remember that playing the odds are so named because the chances of winning are
odd at best.  In fact, they may be as low as “1 in 175 million.”

In plain English, this means that you’re “more likely to become president of the United States” than you are to win the lottery.  But hey, you never know!  As Wayne Gretzky once said:  You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

God's press secretary, to boot?

Hear ye, hear ye!    (Public Domain)
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders not only speaks for Trump, but maybe for God also.

Sanders recently proclaimed that God “wanted Donald Trump to become president.”  She followed this up with a rousing “and that’s why he’s there.”

As for Trump, he has “long touted his Christian faith,” even though Jesus said to “not be as the hypocrites” who pray “in the corners of the streets that they may be seen by men.”

Cancer cure imminent?

Breast Cancer Cells   (Public Domain)
Israeli scientists may be just a year away from discovering a cure for cancer.  Yes, a cure - and yes, for all cancer.

Now that’s a tall order, but Dan Aridor’s Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies team compares their results to those achieved with antibiotics.  Cancer cells are targeted with a multipronged MuTaTo approach, which sharply reduces the chances of them mutating. Cancer stem cells are also nipped in the bud, thus “eliminating the chance for recurrence.”

Amazingly, this approach will be far cheaper than current ones, and will have far fewer side effects.  The treatment becomes effective “from day one” and  “will last a duration of a few weeks.”
