Oops, Wrong Number

Hello down there!   (NASA photo)
Here on Earth, wrong numbers are fairly common.  Some are intentional, most aren’t.

Believe it or not, wrong numbers can also occur from the International Space Station. Why just the other day, astronaut Andre Kuipers dialed 911 by mistake.  NASA sprang into action, checking to make sure that everything was okay.

Turns out that Kuipers simply hit 9 instead of 0.  This became 911, rather than 011 (“the code for the U.S.”).  Could happen to anyone, especially to someone who is literally spaced out.
