Pandora's Box? (Photo by Marcus Andre) |
A mathematician with apparently too much time on his hands recently calculated the cumulative bulk of the entire world’s COVID-19 load. Not-so-fun fact: Every last little bugger could be crammed into the average soda can, and there would still be room at the inn for more.
Wondering how “expert Kit Yates” came up with such a conclusion? He began by estimating that there are “two quintillion” of these viral particles on the loose at any given time. Yates then figured out the total volume of these spherical entities, based upon an average diameter of “100 nanometers” each.
