Although she didn’t go through a looking glass, Hartsoe certainly went beyond one. After detecting a mysterious opening behind her bathroom mirror, Samantha felt curiouser and curiouser. She then summoned up the courage to venture within that rabbit hole.
Lo and behold, there lurked a whole other apartment! To call it a fixer-upper would be complimentary. “Bags of trash and an uninstalled toilet littered the floors.”
Yet things could have been worse. Much worse. At least there was no one around to shout, “Off with her head!”
