It's Come to This

Mr. Prejudice   (1943 Painting by Horace Pippin)
Wishing someone dead just because they spoke out for what they believe in is an indication that sentiments in America have truly run amok.

When the Asian owner of a San Antonio restaurant publicly aired his views against Governor Abott’s rescinding of the Texas mask mandate, haters responded by defacing the eatery with anti-Asian messages.  The most dangerous of these slurs declared, “hope U DIE.”

The recipient of such prejudice did not respond in kind.  He instead replied, “We are Texans, and what we do especially in San Antonio is have each other’s backs in times of need.  We do the right thing.”
